  So, what are the other operas we are supposed to love to hate? I only ask because i don't really know opera, but i'm always looking for something new to hate.

    You could always start with "Pagliacci"....while it's not new, there is plenty for one to love to hate there.
    
    If you want something that's more contemporary, I might suggest "Jerry Springer"

    Hey, I see David Soul, of "Starsky and Hutch" fame is now singing the lead role in the current production. I don't know about you, but that certainly sounds like something I'd love to hate.....
